Santa Barbara Volleyball Club (SBVC) has been the standard bearer for girls and boys club volleyball in Santa Barbara since its inception in 1994. Our Mission Statement houses three central goals: (1) train well and develop fully the young male and female athletic talent of the area in the sport of volleyball; (2) teach the boys and girls of this community how to be excellent young men and women through the vehicle of athletics; and (3) compete on-court to win matches at all competitive levels.

Simply stated, our mission is to help every athlete under our banner become the best volleyball player they can be, while guiding each child in our care to become the best person they can be. We recognize the importance of these youth and juniors years to the development of values, self-esteem and self-confidence in young people, whether athletes or otherwise. Our Director, coaches, staff, and parents are held to the highest standards regarding their respect for each player's dignity and well-being; this standard applies on and off the court, during practices and tournaments, and in general.

In terms of competition, SBVC is dedicated to teaching volleyball skills and providing an opportunity for athletes from grade school through high school to train for, and participate in, organized competitive volleyball. We offer intensive, high quality training to those serious players who aspire to compete at the collegiate level, but are equally committed to the development of those athletes who are looking to grow their skills for their high school or middle school teams, or purely out of love and passion for the game.

Our partnership and affiliation with the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy (LAVA), one of the premier youth and junior athletic organizations in Southern California, furthers our pursuits of all of these goals and aspirations. LAVA strives to do differently and better in every single aspect of its enterprise, setting a course and navigating a path with the highest ethical standards of behavior as it provides superior volleyball instruction, excellence in the teaching of and guidance for athletes, quality education and assistance for parents, and an understanding of how to do things the right way.

Santa Barbara Volleyball Club, powered by LAVA, is set up well to succeed year in and year out with its mission of helping the athletes, coaches, parents, and families in its care. Go SBVC!
