Girls Travel Teams
SBVC Girls teams practice two to three times per week (varies by specific team) and compete in the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) Event Series for regional play and an assortment of potential national tournament events. These events are most commonly held on weekends, most commonly in facilities in Anaheim or Anaheim-adjacent locations. SBVC Girls taps into our talent-rich community and strives to produce exceptional volleyball athletes and excellent young women. Our travel teams and the quality of our players are proof of our success on both fronts. We have assembled an excellent coaching staff, all under the guidance of SBVC Director Matt Riley, a highly respected community figure.
We also have a popular youth and juniors non-travel training program for 3rd-8th graders who want to train, but are not yet ready to step into the commitment of club volleyball in full. We encourage you to speak to our Director or any of the families in our program about what it means to be part of SBVC Girls.
Girls YOUTH "LITE" PROGRAM
SBVC is pleased to offer our Girls Youth Lite Program, an immensely popular and successful youth skills development program. The program is designed to give elementary school athletes (3rd-5th graders) a taste of volleyball in a fun environment that combines quality skills training with lots of fun games. The training is run by professional coaches who keep things fun, but know how to teach skills. It is an excellent introductory indoor volleyball program.
Practice ... Once per week (twice during summer months) at UCSB, Bishop Diego HS, or the Page Youth Center. It is a training only program, although in-house scrimmage events and scrimmage events in conjunction with our LAVA partnership will be offered periodically on a standalone basis.
Please reach out to Club Director Matt Riley at mriley@sbvbclub.com and/or our Youth Lite Program Head Keslie Brown at keslie@sbvbclub.com for more info.
Girls Non-Travel Teams
Our Non-Travel Training Team Program for middle school athletes (6th-8th graders) has become highly popular in recent years. With the number of players seeking ways to stay involved leading up to their respective high school seasons, this program allows beginner and intermediate players the chance to refine and develop their skills without the cost and commitment of a travel team.
Practice ... Twice per week at UCSB, Bishop Diego HS, or the Page Youth Center.
Tournaments ... We offer in-house events for game-like play, as well as additional competitive opportunities with our LAVA partnership.
