Financial Aid overview
Each year SBVC works hard to amass funds to provide financial support for those players in financial need by soliciting corporate sponsorships and private donations, and hosting various fundraisers throughout each season. Financial Aid awards are also made possible in part by the generous grants provided over the seasons.
SBVC makes every attempt to provide those in need with some financial support. SBVC's Financial Aid Committee distributes the monies raised each year to as many eligible families as possible. In so doing, SBVC finds it necessary to generally provide only partial award amounts toward the total program fees. Only in rare circumstances is SBVC able to offer full support.
We use and reference the Income Guidelines are determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), State Housing and Community Development, and calculated pursuant to Santa Barbara County's Housing Element. These figures are primarily based on Area Median Income (AMI) for a family of four, adjusted for household size and income category. Please note these numbers may be subject to change annually.
The following factors are considered to determine who is qualified to receive financial aid:
1. Financial need
2. Seniority in SBVC
3. Number of siblings currently playing in SBVC
