Bio
DILLAN BENNETT returns to SBVC as Club Director after previously serving as the Assistant Director and Beach Director from 2015-2018, and as a coach from 2011-2014. Bennett currently serves and will remain a member of the Bishop Diego High School staff as a Physical Education teacher and lead for the Boys, Girls, and Beach Volleyball programs. Most recently, Bennett led the Cardinals to the 2021 CIF Championship as the Division 7 Coach of the Year, as they made their first appearance in the State tournament, winning two rounds before falling to eventual runner-up, Exeter. Prior to Bishop, Bennett worked as a member of the Penn State Men’s Volleyball Staff in 2018-19 as a volunteer assistant. Before moving to State College, Bennett served the Club, coaches as an assistant coach on Ed Gover’s SBCC Women’s Volleyball Staff, was the head coach at Dos Pueblos (Girls Volleyball – 2015-2017), and served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Volleyball coach at Laguna Blanca (Middle School & Boys High School Volleyball – 2009-2015), where he spearheaded the beach volleyball initiative, starting the program and helping to build the first-ever beach volleyball facility on a Santa Barbara high school campus.
Bennett has been active in the Santa Barbara Community since 2004, both as a player and a coach. He looks forward to building off the positive impacts and progress of the outgoing leadership, and is excited to get started as the new Director!
